Modules available as Self-Paced Learning

From 28 November 2024, all the Growing Roots (formerly Getting Started) modules are accessed by signing into “Scouts.org.uk” and then selecting “My Learning”. Several former Wood Badge Modules are now part of Growing Roots e-learning. All these modules can be completed in bite-sized parts.

Important:  If you’re taking a break from your learning, part way through an e-learning module, you must make sure to exit the course by selecting ‘Save and Exit’.   This will then save your progress,  so you later can come back to where you left off. If you take a break, do not simply leave the e-learning open on your device. This could lead to your single sign on (SSO) session timing out, in which case it will be too late to save the learning you have completed.

Safe Scouting (Safety & Safeguarding) MUST, however, be completed within 30 days of joining and renewed every 3 years. Other Growing Roots modules must be completed within 6 months of joining.

To search for a specific course, use the drop-down box  labelled All types, and either select learning by category (First Aid, Branching Out, or Young Leader), or by specific module.
